I reached out to Ms. Camay for help when I found myself dealing with a complicated landlord-tenant situation that became increasingly difficult to navigate on my own.
What initially seemed like a straightforward move-out quickly involved questions about my lease, conflicting information regarding who was actually managing the property, communications that were difficult to understand and respond to, questions regarding my rights and responsibilities, and concerns about how to properly document everything before moving out.
Ms. Camay helped me organize the entire situation from beginning to end. She reviewed the lease and the communications I had received, helped identify inconsistencies and issues that needed clarification, helped me create a clear chronology of what had happened, and helped me prepare professional written responses so that my position and requests were documented.
She also helped me think through the practical side of moving out, including how to confirm the termination date, document the condition of the property, arrange the walkthrough and return of the keys, preserve written proof of the surrender of the property, and make sure I was not leaving important issues undocumented.
One of the most valuable parts of her assistance was helping me recognize questions I did not know I should even be asking. There were discrepancies regarding the names and authority of the people communicating with me about the lease, and Ms. Camay helped me understand why those issues needed to be clarified and documented instead of simply accepting whatever I was being told.
